Research Interests:
Dr. Faris's research is focused on the role of the vagus nerves
in modulating complex behaviors. Specifically, ongoing projects
include: (1) basic science studies in rat and clinical studies in
eating disordered patients aimed at examining vagal control of satiety;
and (2) basic and clinical studies aimed at determining the role
of the vagus in coordinating interactions between major regulatory
systems (e.g. satiety and inhibition of somatic pain).
