Undergraduate Institution and Major/Degree:

  • Gustavus Adolphus College, BA in Biochemistry and Chemistry, 2005

Major Advisor(s):

Research Description:

My research focuses on brain tumor biology. My lab has established a novel, clinically relevant murine model of human glioblastoma multiforme. I will be using this model to determine the role of extracellular matrix adhesion receptors in cancer stem cell renewal and mobility. I will also be looking at the role of these receptors in the maintenance of normal stem cell niche.

Lab Rotations:

  • John Olhfest
  • Guiseppe Pellizzer
  • Donald Simone

Courses Taken Beyond the Core Courses:

  • CMB 8361 Neuro-Immune Interactions
  • NSC 5667 Neurobiology in Disease
