Michael-Paul Schallmo, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor, Department of Psychiatry

Research Interests:

Dr. Schallmo's interests include:

  • Disrupted perception in psychosis and autism spectrum disorders (ASD)
  • The role of different neurotransmitters (e.g., GABA, glutamate) in psychosis and ASD
  • Visual neuroscience as a tool to examine specific hypotheses about the neural mechanisms of psychiatric disorders
  • Combining methods (e.g., functional MRI, EEG, MR spectroscopy, visual psychophysics, pharmacology) to study a single research question in human subjects
